What Can I Report?

Hate motivated by racism, xenophobia, homophobia, ableism, misogyny and White Nationalism impacts and at times traumatizes our communities. Perpetrators can be individuals, organizations, government agencies, etc. If you have experienced or witnessed a hate/bias incident, report it at: www.reporthatepdx.com

Examples of Incidents:

• A person shouts an offensive name at you while you’re walking down the street

• A teacher intentionally mocks another person for the pronouns they use

• A wall is covered with anti-Semitic graffiti or Islamophobic flyers

This list is not all encompassing—there are many other examples.

Why Report?

Communities most likely to be targets of hate violence are also the least likely to report their experiences to law enforcement. In fact, the Department of Justice estimates that less than 3% of hate crimes are reported. In addition, PUAH collects data on ALL hate incidents, not just those law enforcement considers a crime.
